Me

Hi, I’m Pawel

This website proves that even without having any particular merits, or a distinguished biography, you can have your own place on the Internet. For the sake of it, or perhaps with a teeny-tiny thought that you might someday be of help to someone.

I was born in Warsaw, Poland, and I’ve spent most of my life here so far. If among my parents and all the people I’ve met throughout my life’s path there is something else that has shaped me, it would be sports, mountains, sailing, my professional work, and perhaps a few books I’ve read. No big deal, nothing particularly special.

Be it as it may, I believe that I’m still a person who is quite engaged, curious, empathetic, more and more open to people.

The "curse of knowledge" bias

Apparently, there is a cognitive belief that we incorrectly assume that everyone knows as much as we do on a given topic. It seems easy for us to justify ourselves by claiming that in these times “surely someone has already written about it.” I don’t know, but I believe that each of us has the right to their own view, and even if this view is not particularly unique, can’t its value directly result from the fact that it is simply “someone’s?” Perhaps the mere fact that it is “someone’s” makes it worth presenting, worth sharing.

When we know something, it can be difficult for us to imagine what it would be like not to have that knowledge. In turn, it can be difficult for us to share our knowledge because we struggle to understand the mindset of the other person. Perhaps my point of view and experiences will prove helpful to someone.
